Editors note: This post will start with our 1st pictures
of the laundry room and will them progress through our
unpacking/remodeling pictures. Rather than wait until it's all done,
I've decided to give periodic progress reports.
The laundry room is it's own separate room. It doesn't have a sink, although it's next door to a bathroom so we could put one in eventually. It has it's own closet and a folding table and cabinet. There's even a built in ironing board area, just no iron board.
October 2013 update:
I've painted the laundry room the same color as the pantry, it's a pale pale pink. We are slowly working on getting the baseboards and trip painted white. We've had several delays because it's also serving as the litter box room for 1st our big tom named Tux, who is normally an outside cat, and now for a 6 week old kitten named Minnie. You thought it was hard to paint with kids around, have you tried it with cats, especially adventuresome kittens?
We've decided to use some old recycle bins for our laundry sorting area. They aren't as sturdy as a basket holder, so that may change, eventually.
January 2014 - we've added a shelf above the cabinet to hold the sheets/comforters and a hanging rod. We do plan to extend the shelf a little also because we just have lots and lots of comforters and hang-ups. However, we haven't added a shelf in the closet yet so we still can't really use the hanging rod because the counter is full. Also, because it's winter, the counter is full of plants that can't live outside right now.

Your house is just so beautiful (it's going to get even better as you make it yours) and spacious! Very happy for your family. One day, I'm going to have to make a trip up to visit and help out with your projects, whatever you want to work on. Thanks for opening your doors and giving us all a peek inside!
