 Happy 4th Birthday to Z!!!   We celebrated in our traditional way, with a family birthday party at home.  This year, we are into superhero's!  So, we made a train cake with Spiderman stopping it using gummy worms for webs.  The train tracks were black licorice with yellow frosting between them and more gummy worms at the railings.  Who was Spiderman saving?  Batman and Superman, of course! In addition, the train was decorated with Spiderman and Ironman cake toppers.  Delicious! and the boy was extremely happy!  For his present, Z received a Wii Hunting game (partly bought for Dad for his birthday last month) and box of heavy duty Cars cars.  Today, my house was turned into Radiator Springs and a race track!  Lots and lots of fun. Also a birthday tradition, the annual visit to the dr.  Today, the dr asked Z what his last name was.  He told her " Z" , so she asked what his full name was.  The answer: " Superma...

Thanks for the well wishes Sonya! This morning, C woke up and seemed to be doing good.  She came in the bathroom right after my shower, so the bathroom was hot, and she started telling me all about her adventures last night and where all the blood went (a white shirt and a pink jacket) and how she was glad it didn't get in her mouth.  She also kept looking into the mirror - checking out her cut.  She asked me how big it was and I tried to describe it to her.  She also told me she still had a headache so I gave her some Tylenol, as recommended. I decided to put her hair up so it wouldn't get in the way.  While I started that, C asked me when all fuzzies would go away.  Fuzzies??  Well, she immediately then started to fall over.  She never lost consciousness and I caught her.  She told me she was seeing those fuzzies again and that her stomach didn't feel well.  I'm guessing her tummy doesn't react well to tylenol when it's empty....

What a day!!!! C, while trying to get into the car after service tonight, ran into the door and cut herself.  I don't think she realized what she did until Craig pointed out she was bleeding all over the place.  We got the bleeding to slow down and immediately headed toward the ER.  By the time we got there, the bleeding had almost stopped - it wasn't gushing any more.  It was about 7:30.  The waiting room was full but overall it moved fairly fast, we were home by 10:45.   Here's the before picture.  It had stopped the heavy bleeding by this point and C was staring to feel playful again and wanted to know what it looked it.  Since there weren't any mirrors available, we took a picture for her.   While she and I waited, Craig took the rest for dinner at DQ.  C discovered that the planet app on my phone is really really cool - you can make the planets spin faster and can zoom in and can rotate them.  Very fun stuff!!! ...

Craig and the kids have started working on the next telecope.  Not sure who this one will belong to - they've all claimed it!

In my life this week... This week has been a fairly normal week for us.  The noise level of the neighborhood was a little louder since it is Spring Break and our neighbors own several of those little "kid" motorcycles.  They spent the week riding them through the neighborhood.  However, the compensate, we turned music appreciation up a little bit - which the kids didn't mind at all!  The louder the better according to them. We started off last weekend spending the evening visiting with some great families from our local congregation.  It was very nice to relax and visit with ladies that I don't normally get to "talk with" - meaning we say Hi as we clean up after our children in the pews and as we rush after the little ones headed out the door without us.  The one down side of this week, A was sick on Wednesday to Thursday.  Almost exactly 24 hours, to the minute, she started complaining of a headache and got a 101.3 fever and then just jumped...

Last night, S, A, and I attended the local genealogical club meeting.  The subject was researching your female ancestors.  I heard some new things - alots changed in 10 years - and received a fresher on my reseach techniques.  I've also decided that the girls can help me rebuilt my files by doing their own researching.  I have quite a bit of documentation that they can use and with the little reseach library here in town, we should be able to get a little bit done.  So, to that end, I've created a new blog - http://kerrfamilyadventures.wordpress.com/  - that will chronical our research journey.  It's a long process but a fun one.  Ultimately, everything will be stored in my computer in Family Tree Maker.  However, alot of genealogy is about sharing - that's what the blog is perfect for. And, if we happen to learn a little about the TX Revolution or the Civil War or the American Revolution - I can count it as school work too right???

In my life this week... It's been a different sort of a week.  The weather has been nice and so we've spent alot of time outside and with the windows open.  It's also been a week of reprimands.  Everything this week has set someone off - be it birthday parties, homeschooling, weight loss, diabetes, vacation plans, job choices and locations, attending worship services, or disciplining our children.  What has been accomplished this week?  The car is now in tip top shape again.  Craig changed all the spark plugs several months ago and our check engine light kept coming back.  Finally visited the dealer and they fixed it with a $2.00 part.  I was very afraid it was going to be so much more.  We also have 2 new tires on the the front.  Now, just need that oil change and we'll be good to go for our next adventure! In our homeschool this week... This week has been a sort of Spring Break.  With it being the 1st nice all week ...

I'm in the dining room cutting out a vest.  In walks the youngest..... H: "Bubba out" me: "Bubba kicked you out of the living room?" H: "yeah" me: "Do you think it was because you were picking on him?" H: "yeah" me: "Do you think he'd let you play if you stop picking on him?" H: "yeah" and out the door she runs to play nicely with her brother.  So very sweet!

Yesterday, we visited Craig's Dad's house.  This we a good visit!  It was a little chilly so we kept coming in and out.  On one of the out's, Grandpa came with us!  That's great - it's means he's feeling well!  He is on oxygen all the time and doesn't always have the breath to come out and visit. So, the kids played on the playground and helped Grandma water the garden and played races around the garden and front yard.  Lots and lots of fun! The kids also received their presents from Grandma.  This was our 1st visit since she went Christmas shopping.  We were at their house the weekend before Christmas (and then everyone was sick almost continuously for 2 months). And then, Grandpa asked if we had enough time to go rescue from fish from drowning.  He didn't fool Z. He knew exactly what Grandpa was talking about. In my life this week... This week started off long because the weekend was very long.  To start with, Craig worked almost 24 hours straight.  When he finally came home on Saturday, he wanted us to keep him awake until bed time.  So, we ordered pizza and did our best to keep Dad awake.  We succeeded!!  However, he slept so hard that it was 9:00 in the morning when we woke up.  So much for Bible class.  Also, the pizza seemed to hit me and S pretty hard.  We spent 1/2 of Saturday night awake too.  So, we weren't early risers either.  Craig went back to work Sunday afternoon and we just rested and watched movies.  Monday morning arrived with everyone feeling better!! Most of the week went well.  We did start to lose steam on Friday.  One of the girls suffers from occassional allergies.  Today was an occassional day which translated into a slow, almost do nothing day for them and extra sewing time for me.  Th...
