Editors note: This post will start with our 1st pictures
of the outside and will then progress through our
unpacking/remodeling pictures. Rather than wait until it's all done,
I've decided to give periodic progress reports.
Here are some of the pictures we took before moving in.

Backyard with a chainlink fence - supposedly to keep the little dogs in. It's more for the little kids now and from keeping the big dog out.
Front yard with a wood picket fence - to keep the dogs away from the front doors, to keep people from driving their car right up to the front door and to keep the kids from playing around our cars. Also in the pictures is the posts for our front porch which need to be sanded and resealed.
Craig has decided to start learning a little bit of concrete work. Here is his 2nd project - a step off the front porch. Before it was mud over several layers of carpet. It's so nice to have a place to walk on now. We plan to have a walk of some sort out to the gate in the fence. Haven't decided if we want concrete with a bridge over the low spot or flagstones.
The top picture is the small storeroom we put in to hold the nice wood and car parts. The bottom picture is of the "eye-sore" with it's upgraded sides of metal and clean plastic for light. On the other side, there is an opening to get in. It's not weather proof, but it is weather sheltered.
January 2014:
We've made a few changed/upgrades outside. We put some metal around what Craig calls the eye-sore to turn it into a storage room. We added a small storage room and 2 fences. Now we get to landscape!
