Last week, we celebrated N's 1st birthday.  Wow!  Where has the year gone? We kind-of spent the entire week celebrating.  On his actual birthday, he received a big green ball.  Then, because our piano teacher was in the middle of her master's finals, we went to TAMU-C for lessons and then spent the afternoon at the children's museum.  It's a perfect year to have a membership because each time we go, N has grown and is discovering new things. The Christmas decorations were very cool! And we had fun banging the watering cans together in the farm area.  Followed by playing with the farm animals.   While A and H had a grand time shopping.  The batteries have been changed in the cash register and it was so fun to have it ring things up!   S is starting to feel too old to play in the museum.  However, she is discovering other activities besides dress up and store.  There are tables with dominoes and building...

No big adventures since our trip to the coast.  We had a lovely Thanksgiving with family.  S participated in the National Write a Novel Month.  She wrote a story about a dolphin family and a cat family who all lived underwater together.  Their favorite activity?  Organizing worship services and Bible classes. Yes, we are still having daily school lessons.  We still aren't back to a full schedule, just the basics.  We have added a unit study this month on Christmas celebrations around the world. We've been learning about food (tamales, lasagne, and pavlova), tree lightnings, parades, and nativities.  Some countries have practically no celebrations while others are very religious in nature and others use Christmas as a status symbol. Sunday, we drove over to worship at the Katy congregation, where we worshiped when we lived there.  We had lunch and dinner with friends, an ice cream break with friends, and a tour of the Katy Mills Mall. Monday, we packed up and cleaned the trailer (I think I like leaving on Monday's better than Sunday's; I have time to clean the trailer before we leave instead of waiting until we get home) and headed to Space Center Houston.  We arrived not long after opening so we were able to get in a small tour group.  We occupied 2 rows on the tram.  N enjoyed being able to reach Z and kept pulling his ear.  The tram took us by the shuttle exhibit which is not ready for visits yet.  Guess we'll have to go back when it is ready.
