On Saturday morning, we started out bright and early to dig for diamonds. We rented the big kit and selected a nice unlevel, turned up, not recently traversed area to start our digging. We used the kids sand toys and sifted into the rented buckets and then Craig went to the wet sifting area. We worked until about 1:00pm and then went and had lunch in the RV. The afternoon was spent resting and playing on the playground right outside our door. After an early dinner, we went back to the diamond mines and sifted some more. This time, we went to the other side of the area where the shade had already started to grow. Apparently, the big time to dig is in the heat of the afternoon instead of the cool of the morning or evening, so we pretty much had the area to ourselves so the girls went on surface walks to see what they could find. At the end of the trip, we didn't find any diamonds. We did find many quartz crystals and jasper. ...
