Since we had a late lunch, we decided to push on and visit Mission San Juan Capistrano. It's a very small mission and in a beautiful setting also. We didn't walk down to the river due to mosquitoes and A's ability to attract every mosquito in the area. However, it is located along the San Antonio River and was a trading spot for many Indians. It was also apparently inhabited by shorter priests because we found many doors that were A size.
This rectory is still occupied by the priest. Look at the original roof tiles!! The walkway to the church is lined with stations of the cross. Interesting. The park ranger said they still use them for special services (Easter and Christmas)
The gate as the people coming from the river would see.
