Z asked about a month ago if he could play football. So, we searched the city's website for information about flag football and found that signups where happening right now. We signed him up and his first game was this past weekend. Unfortunately, the city decided that the first game was to be at Cowboy's Stadium. Under normal conditions, it takes a good hour to hour and a half to get there. Under the traffic/road work conditions on Saturday, it took Craig and Z close to 3 hours to get there. The game lasted for 30 minutes and then took another 2 hours to get home.
However, Z LOVED it! He got to run and run and was even tackled several times. He hopped right back up and kept on going. Because of the traffic, the coach didn't make it to the stadium until after the game was over, so the boys played in their regular clothes with borrowed flags and a borrowed coach. So, in some of the pictures, Z is wearing a red shirt.
So what do the next few weeks (about 11) hold for us? Many more games and weekly practices. Unfortunately, the coach decided that Monday and Wednesday nights were the best nights for practice. So, Craig and the girls will "play" at home during the week and Z will practice on Monday nights with the team.
Welcome to Football!!!

While we waiting for Z and Craig to get home, the girls and I made him a football cake - which he thought was just wonderful when he got home!
