Craig is returning to school for a masters degree in engineering. Because of this, we don't have many free weekends to travel (did you notice no Star Party post this year?). So, when Craig finished his project work early, we took advantage of the Memorial Holiday to visit with my parents.
This trip, the kids were able to visit with the horses and cousins and to get a few things from Nonie's house.
First we visited with the new horse and everyone petted Classy - my horse when I was younger.
Then, we played with cousins out front and chased Sadie, Grammie's dog around the yard. Mamaw's yard includes a climbing thing and a wooden truck and a sandbox. Lots of fun to be had by all.
Then we visited the horses again. This time, the brushes were gotten out and everyone groomed a horse or pony. N even got to sit on a few of them. The pony was OK, the bigger ones were scary!!
Z visited with Mamaw's black and white cat, named Chewy and one of her dogs.
The boys also took the time to explore Mamaw's drive-way on wheels and on foot.
At Nonie's house, the kids picked out their pictures that Nonie painted. We have put them up around our house. What a great reminder of my grandmother..... and a little inspiration for our aspiring painters.
