Last week, we celebrated N's 1st birthday. Wow! Where has the year gone?
We kind-of spent the entire week celebrating. On his actual birthday, he received a big green ball. Then, because our piano teacher was in the middle of her master's finals, we went to TAMU-C for lessons and then spent the afternoon at the children's museum. It's a perfect year to have a membership because each time we go, N has grown and is discovering new things.
After dinner, we had the official birthday party with a baseball cake and ice cream and presents.

The Christmas decorations were very cool!
And we had fun banging the watering cans together in the farm area. Followed by playing with the farm animals.
While A and H had a grand time shopping. The batteries have been changed in the cash register and it was so fun to have it ring things up!
S is starting to feel too old to play in the museum. However, she is discovering other activities besides dress up and store. There are tables with dominoes and building blocks/lincoln logs, and shape sorting and picture designing. This visit, she discovered the dominoes and built a nice tower.
N found the tractor and decided to try driving it. Then, he wanted to drive the airplane!
Recently, the children's museum in Fair Park closed when the Natural History Museum moved to the new Perot Museum. As part of their move, the local museum acquired a few new pieces. One of them is an imagine heat sensor - or something like that. We spent quite a bit if time running/walking/dancing/crawling/ and making our hair fly in front of it. Have you ever seen hair under a heat sensor? It's pretty cool! and Green!
N also discovered the play kitchen while Z discovered his new favorite spot, the Atmos building area. C found her favorite spot too - the veterinary clinic! She's trying to convince Craig to build her one of these storage units.
The weekend brought with it a violin recital, a piano recital, a visit from grandparents, and a birthday party! As has become tradition, each grandchild receives a custom rocking horse on their 1st birthday.
We also spent some time with Mamaw building a Home Depot gingerbread house. We had projects which needed repair (notice the broken wall) and a Clark Griswald handyman light hanger.
After dinner, we had the official birthday party with a baseball cake and ice cream and presents.
We loved the cars and reading a book with sister is great fun.
However, our favorite present, next to the horse, is the balls! They are excellent for pretending to be prey, or the play catch on the hard floor by yourself or to throw at sisters.
Happy 1st Birthday Brother N!!!
